What a great day!

Babyhawk had such a big day in therapy yesterday. Her occupational therapist did constraint induced movement therapy with her for the first time. How this works is they restrain the "good" arm and hand, forcing the child to use the "weak" arm and hand.

The therapist said she was pretty mad for about 5 minutes but then settled down into her fingerpainting. She was able to manipulate small items and reach across her midline (which is really difficult for her to do!). Babyhawk also grasped 5 objects independently with her right hand!!! Finally, the therapist placed 7 stickers on her left hand, which she removed with her right hand and placed on her painting. I know this all seems like small potatoes, but this really is a HUGE deal and a big achievement for Babyhawk!
