Valentine's Day marked a year from when we got the official Hemi Cerebral Palsy Diagnosis, along with a list of all of the things our daughter would never do. It has been a year of tears, anxiousness, guilt and fear about the future BUT it has also been a year of education, pride, reward and great joy. She is an amazing little girl doing such amazing things - things that her neurologist, just a year ago, said she couldn't do. She is walking. She is using her right hand. She is talking.... a lot. She is smart and beautiful and all things a little one her age is supposed to be.
So, in the last year I have gone from incredible sadness to the heights of anger, fear and guilt to the place I am at right now and a place where I feel comfortable with her and with me. It is a place of determination and knowing that she will do anything she wants to do and I will be right alongside her doing everything in my power to make it happen. She has taught me so much and I wouldn't change her or this experience for anything.
Okay! Now to the action. Babyhawk modeled both of her new Jayhawk tees from Aunt Marli in the same day due to a necessary costume change:
And, as a fitting end to this post, some more swimming material! I know this is the same old stuff, but this is what Babyhawk loves more than anything and she is really really good at it:
We really don't have original material for you this Sunday. But for your enjoyment .... Our frozen trees etc and Babyhawk's official 2009 Superbowl prediction. (She was right on last year if you recall...):
Hate to tell you Grandmas, but she isn't always an angel. This is her yelling for some more olives....Just like Aunt Marli does!:
And there you have it. Have a great start to February! Plan to come and see us in May.... we have an event in the works for pediatric stroke awareness day! Strong steps toward you from Babyhawk!
