BIG News...

Babyhawk had her 9 month appointment today and it went great. First, no shots! Yeah! Second, our little Babyhawk isn't so little. She weighed in at 20 lbs and was 31 inches long/tall.

What does that mean? It means that she is in the 80th percentile for weight and her height is..... OFF THE CHARTS! Above 100%! A Shaquille O'Neil comparison was made by the Doc. She is at the 50th percentile height for a 15 month old - at 9 months. We were told she may even out soon - but we are pretty excited that for now we have a very tall little girl!

Playing Hooky

Babyhawk skipped out on school two days last week to hang out with her Aunt Vinnie and Uncle Dustin. They went swimming, went to the park and had a great time! She was pretty tired every night - but I think it was Vinnie and Dustin who were the most worn out. They promise to send their photos of the adventure soon - and I will post them when I get them...

Then the grown ups took a day off. Here we are for Dustin and Vinnie's first trip to the track:

And we were so unlucky. Didn't pick one winner. We had, thankfully, stopped betting by the time this race went down. You can guess which horse we would have picked:

Papahawk got in the pool this week for swim lessons. Once again, Babyhawk loved it!

Babyhawk sends a big Happy 2-9 to her Aunt Jacqueline! She can't wait to meet the whole crew in less than a month!

Hairdos.... and do not's

Although we had another fun and jam-packed week, the post this Sunday is one of our shortest ever! But I think you will still enjoy.

This is what is called post pony/nap hair:

Papahawk likes to call this 'do a "double pony." She came home from Daycare in her first ever set of pigtails. I am the mom and didn't even know her hair was long enough...: I learned how to anit-age, mat and frame newspapers this weekend. It is more complicated than you might think. Babyhawk was, of course, very helpful. (Her shirt says: "This shirt was brought to you by the letters K and U and by the #1):
We have an exciting week ahead. Babyhawk's Uncle Dustin and Aunt Vinnie will be here for a nice long visit! Babyhawk can't wait to show them around!

Our little fish....

We had to share this one picture that was left off of last week's post. This is how Babyhawk will remember the Championship. The flash makes it look like the lights are on -- but she missed the entire thing. Including her parents acting like complete idiots!

Babyhawk was definitely the good luck charm the Jayhawks had been needing for years.

Now on to this week's adventure: Swim Lessons!

Babyhawk woke up early, had a breakfast of champions (cheerios) and donned her little swimsuit:

They told us not to put the Baby's heads under because it can make them afraid. Babyhawk has no fear:

As you can tell, Babyhawk loved every second of it and was not ready to get out of the pool when it was over. She is definitely looking forward to a summer poolside!

I don't even have words. This game was amazing. Papahawk and Mamahawk have been waiting for this moment for YEARS. This is it! And we are LOVING IT!!

We have had quite a weekend here in the 'Hawk household. Our beloved Jayhawks will be playing in the Championship game Monday night!! We tried to make it feel a little like Lawrence Saturday night:
