Some Christmas Leftovers...

Our Christmas card this year (Photos by Paper Boat Photography):

We didn't get a good shot of the girls together in their matching Christmas PJ's so we took one a couple of nights later. No Tinyhawks were harmed in the taking of these photos:

Babyhawk got a Rapunzel wig from Santa. She looks good:

The best Christmas yet!

Christmas started early for Tinyhawk and Mamahawk. Little one was up at six in the morning wanting to chat about the day:

It was a sweet moment for us as we chatted and watched the beautiful snow fall:

Then, Babyhawk woke up.... We must start with a quick story. Babyhawk decided early on in the season that she was scared of Santa. I mean, really scared of Santa. Cried when he came to my office for a visit, avoided him at daycare, refused to even look his way at Southern Lights.

After realizing he had to be a part of her day in order to get gifts from him, she posed a compromise. She would allow him to visit - but he must leave the gifts in the garage. We tried to talk her out of it, but that is what she wanted and Santa was awesome and did just as asked. That, however, did not eliminate her fear. Here she is Christmas morning scared to open the garage door thinking Santa may still be here:

Santa went big time this year:

Her Rapunzel wig:
What a great day! We were able to Skype with one of my brothers, both sets of Grandparents and both of the Great Grandparents on my side. Marli and Jared (and Lola) were with us again this year and it was fun as always. We figured out that Marli and I have spent every Christmas together since she was born in 1985 except for 2008. Having a sister is the best...
Love to all and Happy Holidays!

and the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

It was finally the day Babyhawk had been waiting for.... The tree was loaded up with presents:
Tinyhawk took a quick nap before Christmas Eve mass:

Babyhawk modeled her matching dress:

After mass we had time for a couple of photos:

... and then the festivities began. Our family tradition is to open all of the gifts on Christmas Eve after a dinner of Christmas Eve Nachos (no joke). Once Aunty Marli and Uncle Jared arrived we got down to business:

and then..... the wait for the big man began...

You know Dasher and Dancer.....

Southern Lights

The Horse Park puts on a light show complete with petting zoo, pony rides and Santa every year. We love to go every year and since Babyhawk is scared of the big man this year, her $5 again went to the pony ride.

Here is Tinyhawk getting ready for her first Southern Lights tour:

She also saw some baby camels, llamas and a zebra!

Christmas Program 2010

Well, Tinyhawk isn't in daycare yet so here are a couple of cute photos of her just because:

Babyhawk was once again a reindeer this year for her school program. And, incidentally, sang the same two songs as last year. (you can find last year's performance by clicking here). It was a great show again this year:

Rudolph as you have NEVER heard it before (second from the right):

Babyhawk is on her best behavior anxiously waiting for Santa....

Tinyhawk's 2 month stats

Tinyhawk had her first round of shots today - she squealed at the top of her lungs for about a minute and then was asleep by the time we got to the car. She's a champ. Here are her figures:

10 lbs 4 oz = 50%

22 1/4 inches = 50%

Babyhawk's numbers were similar at 2 months:
10 lbs 11 oz

22 1/2 inches

Snow and pancakes

We got a really good snow this weekend - so Papahawk and Babyhawk spent some time having fun it. They also learned a good lesson - don 't throw snow balls - it is dangerous!:

We also made a trek out in the weather to serve pancakes for Babyhawk's Tae Kwon Do Academy. Thumbs up for Mamahawk and Babyhawk having matching shirts!:
Stay Warm!
