Aunt Stephanie's Wedding...

We traveled to Colorado for Aunt Stephanie's wedding... Babyhawk enjoyed the plane ride and it was just gorgeous and a great time!:

We need to go back when we have more time to explore!

Mamahawk goes to Washington...

I was asked by CHASA to do opening remarks at a Congressional briefing on Pediatric Stroke sponsored by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. And my supportive employer sent me there! It was a whirlwind trip but well worth it.

I toured the Supreme Court between meetings with Legislators:

The highlight of the trip for me was meeting Dr. Steve Roach, who is one of the major researchers in pediatric stroke. He wrote one of the first books/papers on the subject back in the eighties and I got to have a one on one dinner with him to discuss where research is headed, what the researchers need from us families and we even discussed Babyhawk's particular situation. He gave me the first explanation of why Babyhawk may have had her stroke. Remarkably brilliant, but approachable all the same:

I don't see politics in my future, but it was a great experience.

Zoo!

We took a day trip while Papahawk was finishing up some stuff for school with Marli, Jared and Jared's parents. Babyhawk had a blast!

Babyhawk calls us all "snuggle giraffes" so it was a special treat that we were there during giraffe snack time!

She loved feeding and petting the goats and lambs:

We got a tour of the zoo on the train:

And finished the day with some delicious ice cream!:

She really enjoyed it so we will be making a trip back when it cools down a little!

Cooking with Aunt Marli

Babyhawk has really taken a liking to cooking so when Marli came down to stay with us for a few days after finals, the two of them got to it! Making some yummy carrots:

GIRL!

We are thrilled! She was very stubborn (like her dad) so we didn't get any great photos, but we go back in a month to see her again!

Start sending baby girl name ideas!

Mother's Day fun!

Babyhawk and I had such a great Mother's Day! A couple of trips to Target (our fave), some strawberry cupcakes/cakes and some snuggling:

Poor Sinatra is one of her favorite "stuffed" animals these days:

And we had to get new rainboots so she, of course, had to try them out:

We raised over $10,000.00 for CHASA (http://www.chasa.org/) and had a great time doing it. I will update with more pictures when they are collected from the other "photographers" that were there....

Wear your PURPLE this week!

It is paint the week PURPLE for pediatric stroke. - wear it and tell others about these amazing kids! Purple is not a color I have a lot of in the wardrobe, but I am digging around!

We are pretty much ready to go for bowling this Friday! The final glitter ribbons were put on the thank you notes:
