YEE HAW!

We went on quite an adventure the last week or so! Marli was getting married in South Dakota so we hopped on a plane and headed up there for all of the festivities.

Babyhawk relaxing the night before the flight:

She was so good on the plane! She slept for two legs of our flights there and back and she watched movies most of the rest of the time:

Geema (her version of Grandma) and Papa treated Babyhawk to some frozen custard once we arrived:

Babyhawk's "look":

We went to the park in Spearfish, SD where we used to have family picnics every summer:

Babyhawk tested out the water in the stream:

We did some shopping for western wear for the chuckwagon ride. Marli found some awesome boots:
Papahawk and I snuck off to Wyoming early one morning to visit Devil's Tower:

We then made a trip to Rushmore and went through Deadwood (my birthplace) on the way:

The Presidents:

Then it was on to wedding festivities. I hung out with my awesome nieces A and K all day the Friday before. We got our nails done, acted silly and got caught in an AWFUL hail storm!:

Then we all went on the Chuckwagon! It was an awesome time! Here are the kiddos in their cowboy hats and bandanas:

The paparazzi was there...:

Babyhawk had a blast with her Cousin B:
Papahawk remained in "character" the entire night:

Notice the pearl snaps from our earlier shopping trip?!?:

Our guitarist was awesome... even though she couldn't play some VanHalen for Rory and Papahawk:

The food was awesome too!:

Papahawk took the older kids on a hike.

Here is the view from our suite at Sylvan Lake Lodge where the wedding took place:

THE WEDDING!! (I don't have any pictures because all three of the Hawk Family were in the ceremony, but I "borrowed" these from Marli's new sister in law - we will have many more soon!):

Babyhawk had to hydrate the next day:

We took the Needles Highway back from Sylvan Lake to show Papahawk all the scenery:

We had some fun at the community center in Belle Fourche:
And then it was time for our trip to Wall - where I lived for several years. We saw a deserted town along the way:

The Badlands:

Driving the wagon at Wall Drug:

Hitching a ride on the gigantic jackalope:
Babyhawk had a blast in the dancing fountains:
She had a crowd of people watching her carrying on (that is her screaming)... and then.... she spotted me in the crowd and the accident happened:
No one was injured and both girls bounced back pretty quickly...
And sadly then it was time to hit the road. We packed in a lot of fun and Papahawk saw just about everything there was to see! Babyhawk was bummed and has asked for her cousin A, her Geema and Lola and Jadie (Marli and Geema's dogs) every single day since. Waiting in the airport:
We picked the perfect week to come back from vacation as it was a short holiday week! We headed up to a friend's house for the fourth and they put on a bash! There was a pool (it was rainy and cold so we steered Babyhawk clear) a bouncer, snow cones and a band! Oh yeah... and balloons!:
What says the fourth better than a blue sno cone?!?:

We caught up with old friends. It was so great to see Casey!:
And the Birthday festivities have begun. Babyhawk's Second Birthday Bash is scheduled for next Saturday here at our house. It is a sprinkler party and you are all invited! Bring a swimsuit and get ready for some fun. Email me if you need more information.
We got Babyhawk's big gift this weekend.... a big girl bed! She absolutely loves it. I'll update you later this week on how well she actually stays in it...:

Congrats again to Marli and Jared who are moved in up here near us. There house is adorable! We also have big Congrats for Babyhawk's Aunt Stephanie who got engaged last night! Welcome to the family Josh!
Have a great week!

Happy Dad's Day!

We had a great week once again. Had a Shriner's visit and Babyhawk got casted for a new leg brace. They thought she was doing really well and didn't have any real concerns - so that was good!
We had a wonderful time on Saturday at our good friends Stephanie and John's wedding... the food was delicious and the bride looked beautiful (and you too John!)! And now photos of the little girl that calls my wonderful husband daddy....
She stays hydrated during the night:

She had a blast over at Will and Libby's on Saturday evening. They have two very cute dogs that she really enjoyed playing with!

And she FINALLY went down for a nap on Sunday... literally: We are packing up and getting ready for our vacation/Marli's wedding! Photos from the Black Hills to come.

Happy Father's day to my dad and to Papahawk's dad too! We love you. And to Papahawk we say "I laudie!" Which means "I love you" in Babyhawk squawk...

Have a good week and Congrats to Uncle Dustin on the amazing awards he won at his resident graduation this weekend! We know you are one amazing doctor!

Water fun!

Babyhawk had fun with the hose this weekend... She has yet to actually get in her pool:

Here is is making fun of my girlie scream when she gets me with the hose...:

And here is our sneak attack to get the hose back... Didn't work so well:

We did make her clean before all of the fun:

I think big second birthday plans are coming together... Sprinklers galore! Have a great week!

Yeah for summer!

We had another great weekend! It was our anniversary weekend - we have been married for 6 years now... we celebrated at home with each other and Babyhawk.
Papahawk ran in another 5K this weekend and got third place for his age group! He ran really well, considering he was suffering from a nasty stomach bug last week.
Babyhawk insisted on wearing every single one of her bows the other night:

Her little shadow:

Splish Splash:

Name that tune:

Have a great week!
